Private Aromatherapy and Herbalism Session

Aromatherapy is the practice of utilizing essential oils for therapeutic effects, while herbalism is the practice of using plant material for holistic healing.

I combine elements from both practices to create custom blends targeted to your specific needs.

This session isn't to replace allopathic medicine or a medical visit. Homeopathic and allopathic modes of healing are both valid and can work together to give you your best life.

Meet Bethany

Hi! I'm Bethany, and I'm excited to work with you. I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology and have studied extensive organic chemistry and botany in my degree.

I have continued my studies by studying phytochemicals and writing articles for scientific journals for holistic healing.

I also have been a featured herbalist and welcomed to teach herbal workshops to local communities.

Aromatherapy:

I am a certified aromatherapist, granted certification through a school accredited by the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy (NAHA), the Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA), and the American Association of Drugless Practitioners (AADP).

Certification is not required to practice aromatherapy. However, I value having an extensive education and formal understanding of oil components to provide the best service to you.

Herbalism:

I studied at a school for herbal medicine approved by the American Herbalist Guild for over 1,200 hours. This education covered formulation, herb cultivation, studying Materia medica, herbal safety, actions, and botany.

In this session we will review your health intake form together, address your concerns and get a starting point for blends that work for your wants, needs, and lifestyle.

We will discuss scent and absorption preferences, skin sensitivity, and any health contraindications so I can formulate a custom blend for you.

  • A full intake session including health and lifestyle discussions (1 hour)
  • A custom herbal and aromatic blend formulation that will be created and delivered to you.
  • A one month supply (minimum) of a custom product made for you.
  • A weekly check-in email where we can discuss any questions or concerns.

What happens during an aromatic and herbal consultation?

Intake: Your herbal process starts with an intake form. This form asks you to address your biggest concerns and why you'd like to meet with an herbalist and aromatherapist. It takes about 15 minutes to complete and will help me understand the heart of your current concerns.

Aromatherapy + Herbalism Session: This will be a web call via Zoom during which we will discuss your intake form together, chat about your health history, and discuss your current lifestyle. We will also discuss any stressors, internal or external, that are affecting your overall health. Of course, your boundaries are respected, and you are welcome to share as much as you feel safe with.

Together, we will chat about scents, where we will discuss your preferences, positive olfactory memories, and application methods that feel safe and comfortable for you.

Formulation + Creation: While you won't be present for this session, this is the most important step. I will dive into medical research and create a blend to support your desired outcome. I will provide the reasoning for each ingredient selection and send you a one-month supply (minimum) of your blend along with detailed instructions on how to use it effectively.

My formulation process is unique in that I use both herbal extractions and essential oils and source organic, organically grown, and organically crafted ingredients for the highest possible quality. All essential oils are tested for purity and components with GS/MS testing.

Some blends are cold-pressed from a month-long folk infusion, and others may contain a "tea" in the formula from French-pressed decoctions.

There is herbal essence at every level of your blend.

    Scent

    I work with only all-natural ingredients. The scent will be discussed and tailored to your concerns.

    Ingredients

    I believe in 100% ingredient transparency. This means that I will tell you exactly what I will use in your blend and why it was selected.

    This also gives you the opportunity to list ingredients that you may not want included in your blend.

    How to Use

    You will be given directions on how to use your blend and how frequently it is recommended.

    Packaging

    Packaging is always in reuseable or compostable containers and packed without single-use plastics.
